Arts in Transit Uptown Line

After a rigorous selection process that included METRO staff, art specialists and—most importantly—members of the community, artists have been selected to enhance stations of Houston's Uptown Line.  These artists will now join the Facility Provider team responsible for final design and construction of the stations.

The artists include:

Alan Krathaus and Fiona McGettigan
Houston, Texas 
Poems from Inprint’s workshop for senior citizens and children’s poems from Writers in the Schools fill these stations, creating a dialogue between generations.

The artist's abstract compositions capture the dynamic rhythms of Uptown. The powerful imagery combines perfect lines, engaging color combinations and evocative shapes that shimmer and vibrate with energy.
